Northside has a long tradition of having men and women of spiritual
strength and maturity serving as Elders. These are drawn from the ranks
of the congregation and have particular responsibilities in the areas
of Pastoral Care, Prayer Ministry and the development of overall Church
policy and procedures.

Helen has been attending Northside since 1985 first joining because David (her husband) was working in Broken Hill for 18 months.
This was at the invitation of a friend, and hasn't 'strayed' since. During those years she has been involved with different church activities, especially Pastoral Care. She was a Church Deacon for some years and has been an Elder for 2 terms. Helen has been a member of the Northside Prayer group for many years and following her trip to Watoto, Uganda, in 2007, is now co-leader of the Beyond Northside Task Group. In her other life she is a volunteer with Lifeline as a telephone Counsellor and has been since 1993.

Sharon Willis, her husband Glenn and children Hayley & Lachlan have been part of the Northside family for the past 20 years, making them “veterans” in a Church that has only been going for 25 years. Sharon has a pastoral heart, a caring nature and a gift in hospitality – all of which are brought together beautifully in her role as an Elder. In addition, Sharon has served in various ways in our Women’s Ministry, Children’s Ministry and is currently an active member of our Worship & Creative Arts team, appearing regularly as a singer during our services.
